ABOUT KARTIK RUSTAGI

Hey all! So i guess by now you know my name and probably want to know more about me. I am originally from India and always had a dream to pursue my further education in The United States of America and after working hard for almost a year, I made it into one of the most prestigious universitites in America, Virginia Tech.

Life has always surpised me, but more than life its the people we interact with on a regular basis who surprise me. Brought in an Indian joint family in New Delih, i consider myself 'extra' introvert and talk a lot! I like to know whats going on in the opposite person's mind and how does he/she differ from me. I am a very good listener but an above average converstionalist too.

The ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death. When their souls got to the entrance to heaven, the guards asked two questions. Their answers determined whether they were able to enter or not. ‘Have you found joy in your life?’ 'Has your life brought joy to others?’”

I have always believed in finding the joy in my life, but, at the same time i also strongly believe that true joy does not lie in your happiness but that of others. According to me life is too short to be thought upon and contemplated, so instead of figuring out what you want to do, just do what makes you happy.

Since middle school, I was fascinated by school events – whether it was debating, extempore or inter-house dance competition and tried to find out which teacher was responsible for the event so that I could volunteer to work towards making it a success. Most tasks were simple but when the event was the school annual day, a large-scale inter-school competition or a Diwali party for my friends, tasks became bigger and bolder. However, that did not faze me and I went full steam ahead to accomplish it. And enjoyed it.

I am majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I love travelling and by now have travelled fifteen countries across North America, Europe and Asia. I have a dream to become an even planner and host the largest music festival on Earth. Somehow I get satisfaction by serving people and making them happy and that is why i chose this major, I just wanna travel and be around people.
Being a single parent child i spent most of the time alone at home and thus found a special in cooking. Though i dont want to pursue a professional career in cooking but it is something that defines me much better than any skill of mine, i can cook upto five cuisines and have learned everything from Youtube. I have been playing guitar for the past three years now but do not get much time to catch up with it now.
